A PRN PBX Operator at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission handles hospital-wide telephone communications and emergency code dispatch at the Shawnee Mission, Kansas campus.
### What you'll do
- Answer and transfer all incoming calls promptly and accurately across the hospital system.
- Respond to codes, alerts, drills, and system tests; document all event details in real time.
- Execute hospital-wide communications efficiently during both routine and emergency situations.
- Maintain current knowledge of hospital code procedures and departmental protocols.
- Assist in training new staff on call processing and documentation procedures.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred.
- At least 1 year of PBX switchboard, call center, clerical/administrative, hospitality, or customer service experience.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and professional under pressure, including during emergency situations.
- Strong multitasking skills: managing calls, documenting events, and communicating simultaneously.
- Availability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Compliance with HIPAA, federal, state, and local regulations and hospital confidentiality policies.
### What's included
- Pay range: $15.63–$23.45 per hour (~$32,510–$48,776 annualized).
- PRN/per-diem scheduling with flexible shift options including 24-hour availability.
