PRN PBX Operator

A PRN PBX Operator at AdventHealth Shawnee Mission handles hospital-wide communications and emergency code dispatch at a faith-based health system in Shawnee Mission, Kansas. ### What you'll do - Answer and transfer incoming calls promptly and accurately across the hospital telephone system - Monitor and respond to all codes, alerts, drills, and testing with speed and accuracy - Document all emergency event details in a timely and thorough manner - Execute all internal and external communications efficiently while maintaining HIPAA compliance - Support training of new staff on call processing procedures - Maintain current knowledge of hospital, code, and departmental procedures ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate degree preferred - Minimum 1 year of PBX switchboard/operator, call center, clerical/administrative, hospitality, or customer service experience - Ability to remain calm and professional under normal and high-stress conditions - Strong multitasking skills — managing calls, emails, documentation, and team communication simultaneously - Availability to work variable shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays - Demonstrated compliance with HIPAA, confidentiality policies, and applicable federal/state regulations ### What's included - Hourly pay range: $15.63–$23.45 (approximately $32,510–$48,776 annualized) - PRN/per-diem schedule with flexible shift availability ### About the practice AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is a full-service acute care hospital located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, part of the AdventHealth system — one of the largest faith-based nonprofit health systems in the United States.
