About this role
AdventHealth Ocala is hiring a full-time Lead Speech Language Pathologist (Acute) to provide inpatient speech-language pathology services at its hospital campus in Ocala, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform evaluations and re-evaluations using evidence-based techniques, establishing and adapting individualized treatment plans with goal setting and frequency determinations
- Oversee care delivered by therapy aides in accordance with established regulations and practice standards
- Document patient care accurately and completely in the EMR using measurable, objective terminology and apply correct CPT coding per insurance guidelines
- Discharge patients when maximum therapeutic benefit is achieved or per payer guidelines and standards of practice
- Serve as a clinical instructor, supporting professional development and performance improvement initiatives within the department
- Participate in community education events and outreach activities that extend clinical expertise beyond the hospital setting
### What we're looking for
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology (required)
- Active Florida SLP license, SLP-Provisional, or SLP-Temporary licensure (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification (required)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and electronic medical records systems
- Ability to apply knowledge of growth and development to modify assessment and treatment approaches across age groups
- New graduates are eligible; no prior work experience required
