Consumer Access Specialist

A Consumer Access Specialist (PRN, nights) at AdventHealth Porter handles patient registration, insurance verification, and financial counseling at a hospital in Denver, Colorado. ### What you'll do - Perform Medicare compliance reviews and issue Advance Beneficiary Notices of Noncoverage as required - Register patients for all services, collecting accurate demographic and insurance information to minimize duplicate medical records - Contact insurance companies to verify eligibility, confirm benefits, and obtain pre-authorizations within established timeframes - Create accurate patient financial responsibility estimates, collect payments, and establish payment plans - Coordinate communication among clinical, ancillary, and consumer access departments to support a smooth patient experience - Perform cashiering functions including collections and cash reconciliation, and provide PBX/switchboard coverage as needed ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree preferred - 1+ year of experience in customer service, healthcare, or revenue cycle (preferred) - Basic to intermediate medical terminology knowledge - Familiarity with insurance benefits, EMR systems, and Microsoft Office programs - Adherence to CMS, EMTALA, and HIPAA guidelines - Bilingual English/Spanish preferred; CHAA or CRCR certification a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $19.77–$31.64/hour (~$41,122–$65,811 annualized) - PRN night-shift schedule at AdventHealth Porter in Denver ### About the practice AdventHealth Porter is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system with a mission centered on whole-person care.
