About this role

A Clinical Chaplain (PRN) role providing spiritual care to hospice patients and families across patient homes in Central Florida through AdventHealth Hospice and the Seventh-day Adventist Conference. ### What you'll do - Conduct initial pastoral care assessments within 5 days of admission and design individualized pastoral care plans - Provide spiritual counseling and support to patients, caregivers, and family members throughout the hospice journey - Make bereavement calls within 2 working days of a patient's death and support the bereavement coordinator with assessments - Facilitate and co-lead hospice bereavement groups in cooperation with bereavement staff - Serve as a liaison between patients/families and their clergy, churches, synagogues, or spiritual communities - Document all pastoral care activities accurately within the patient database system (Homeworks) as part of the Plan of Care ### What we're looking for - Master's degree in Divinity or a related field (required) - 3+ years of related chaplaincy or pastoral care experience - Current employment by the Seventh-day Adventist Conference (required for this role) - Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification - Demonstrated ability to provide culturally sensitive, non-judgmental spiritual care across diverse populations - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and patient database systems ### What's included - Pay range: $26.29–$48.91/hour (~$54,683–$101,733 annualized equivalent) - PRN schedule with day shifts (8:30 am–5 pm) plus on-call availability ### About the practice AdventHealth Home Health and Hospice, operating as Hospice of the Comforter, serves patients across Central Florida with a faith-based model rooted in whole-person care. The interdisciplinary hospice team works in collaboration with community clergy and organizations to support patients and families through end-of-life transitions. This role is jointly supported by AdventHealth and the Seventh-day Adventist Conference.
