AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a full-time inpatient Occupational Therapist for a float position at its hospital in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Perform initial evaluations and re-evaluations using evidence-based techniques and established standards.
- Develop, implement, and adapt individualized treatment plans including goal setting, therapeutic activities, and frequency adjustments.
- Document patient care accurately and on time using measurable, objective terminology in the EMR.
- Provide patient and caregiver education, including discharge planning and recommendations.
- Oversee certified occupational therapy assistants and rehabilitation therapy aides in accordance with regulatory and practice standards.
- Maintain productivity standards through effective time management and clinical efficiency across inpatient units as a float therapist.
### What we're looking for
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license or Temporary OT license in Kansas (required).
- Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (preferred; licensure-eligible degree required).
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Outlook, and electronic medical records systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with patients, caregivers, physicians, and nursing staff.
- Commitment to evidence-based and best-practice clinical standards.
