About this role

AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Security Officer II for its emergency room facility located at 1775 State Road 207 in St. Augustine, Florida, working the night shift. ### What you'll do - Patrol assigned areas and respond to emergency, non-emergency, and alarm calls including fire alarms and drills - Investigate suspicious persons and activities, documenting incidents through written and electronic reports - Use verbal de-escalation techniques to diffuse disputes and potentially violent situations - Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic on hospital property, verifying identification and policy compliance - Administer initial first aid to the level of training attained - Collaborate with medical and nursing staff to resolve patient-related security concerns ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent required - Minimum 1 year of related security experience required - Valid driver's license required - BLS/CPR certification preferred - Preferred certifications: handcuffing, pepper spray, baton, or TASER (or equivalent national certifications) - Knowledge of access control and CCTV systems preferred; familiarity with emergency management principles a plus ### What's included - Pay range: $17.63–$28.20/hr ($36,670–$58,656 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Career development resources and whole-person well-being support ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating hospitals and care sites across multiple states, with a mission centered on whole-person health in body, mind, and spirit.
