About this role
A Floor Technician at AdventHealth New Smyrna Beach maintains clean and safe floor surfaces across the hospital campus on an overnight shift (10:30 PM – 7 AM).
### What you'll do
- Analyze carpeted and hard surface floors and apply correct maintenance procedures for each surface type.
- Perform cleaning functions using department-approved processes in all assigned areas.
- Operate commercial rotary machines, auto scrubbers, vacuums, and floor burnishers safely.
- Monitor equipment condition, report issues or supply shortages, and restock as needed.
- Assess assigned areas and document daily completed assignments, offering improvement suggestions to supervisors.
- Cover additional areas as needed to support staffing needs across the facility.
### What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 year of floor technician experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of environmental services equipment and cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to safely operate commercial floor-care equipment including rotary machines and auto scrubbers.
- Ability to climb and work safely on a ladder.
- Basic computer skills including mouse and keyboard use.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
