About this role
UChicago Medicine AdventHealth is hiring a full-time Hospice Volunteer Coordinator at its Hinsdale, Illinois location to recruit, manage, and support volunteers serving hospice patients.
### What you'll do
- Recruit, interview, select, and retain volunteers aligned with patient census needs.
- Train and monitor volunteers based on individual strengths, assigning them to appropriate patient care roles.
- Coordinate with Patient Care Managers and Hospice staff to identify and fulfill volunteer needs on an ongoing basis.
- Maintain accurate volunteer records and produce timely statistical and activity reports.
- Ensure volunteers adhere to organizational policies, procedures, and standards of service.
- Participate in staff meetings, in-services, and departmental activities to stay current on organizational priorities.
### What we're looking for
- Office experience required; background in Volunteer Services or a related field preferred.
- Associate degree in a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education and experience considered.
- Knowledge of hospice services, policies, procedures, and governing regulatory agencies preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make professional presentations.
- Ability to work respectfully with culturally diverse populations and manage emotionally sensitive situations.
