North Central Baptist Hospitals in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a full-time Central Supply Supervisor to lead the Central Service Department on a day-shift schedule. This role sits within Baptist Health System — a 120-plus-year regional health network comprising six full-service hospitals, a dedicated children's hospital with a pediatric emergency unit, a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, ambulatory services, and the Baptist School of Health Professions. Practice Highlights

  • Full-time days — consistent, predictable schedule with no rotating nights
  • Supervises daily operations of the Central Service Department, including staff performance management, scheduling, and competency oversight
  • Serves as a direct interface with hospital managers and directors across clinical and operational service lines
  • Assists the director in setting Materials Management priorities — ensuring the right resources are available at the right time and at the best price
  • Participates in cost studies, product evaluations, and analysis of costs, benefits, quality, and outcomes
  • Monitors annual department operating and capital budgets
  • Ensures compliance with Group Purchasing Organization (GPO) contracts and system-level supply agreements; monitors non-catalog item purchasing
  • Leads performance improvement activities and maintains ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Supports staff development, coaches direct reports, and assists in hiring, promotion, and performance evaluation processes
  • Operates within a large integrated health system: six full-service hospitals, a children's hospital, cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and a health professions school

Qualifications

  • Minimum: High school diploma or equivalent
  • Preferred: Associate degree from an accredited college or school
  • Minimum: 2 years of experience in supply chain
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in healthcare supply chain, including a supervisory role
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, analyze supply costs, and ensure GPO contract compliance
  • Strong communication skills across all organizational levels; ability to facilitate consensus among cross-functional teams
