<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Conducts bedside interviews with patients and family members to screen for eligibility across a full spectrum of governmental (Federal, State, County) and non-governmental financial assistance programs</li> <li>Identifies all potential payor sources — including auto insurance, Workers' Compensation, commercial insurance, private insurance, and third-party liability (TPL) — and routes accounts appropriately within the Patient Accounting environment</li> <li>Obtains and completes Confidential Financial Statement forms; guides patients through the application process for any programs for which they qualify</li> <li>Performs financial clearance functions including collections; prepares accounts for Financial Assistance review when patient cooperation is not established or program eligibility is absent</li> <li>Follows up on EES-assigned accounts to confirm government applications are progressing; builds ongoing working relationships with patients to accelerate eligibility determinations</li> <li>Conducts field visits to patient homes for skip tracing and document assistance when required</li> <li>Communicates case screening determinations and outcomes to hospital case management, social services, and admissions staff via both verbal and written channels</li> <li>Works across multiple hospital facilities and platforms, coordinating with multiple supervisors in a detail-intensive, multi-task environment</li> <li>Work environment spans both hospital settings (including Emergency Department and patient bedside) and office facilities, with some travel required</li> </ul>

<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent required</li> <li>Minimum 2 years of work experience in Social Services, Hospital Admitting, or a closely related field</li> <li>Working familiarity with Federal, State, and County program rules and regulations governing patient financial assistance</li> <li>Proficiency with PC systems including Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word</li> <li>Excellent oral and written communication skills in English; Spanish bilingual proficiency strongly preferred</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize competing tasks, and manage multiple accounts with efficiency and accuracy</li> <li>Ability to navigate a hospital campus environment, including Emergency Department settings, and to travel for field visits as needed</li> <li>Compliance with all required pre-employment vaccinations and health screenings, including COVID-19 and influenza, as applicable and permitted by law</li> </ul>
