Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California is seeking a full-time Activity Therapist Coordinator to join its behavioral health and therapeutic services team. This day-shift, Monday–Friday role (0700–1530) offers a structured, predictable schedule within a major regional hospital network that includes a Level 1 Trauma Center, a comprehensive stroke program, a cancer center, and the only Level 3 NICU in the Coachella Valley. Practice Highlights

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Minimum two years of experience in a social or recreational program within the past five years, including at least one year of full-time experience in a patient activities program within a healthcare setting
  • Credentialed as one of the following: occupational therapist, art therapist, music therapist, dance therapist, recreation therapist, or occupational therapy assistant
  • Satisfactory completion of at least 36 hours of training in a course specifically designed for this role and approved by the relevant Department; ongoing regular consultation from a qualified occupational therapist, OTA, or recreation therapist (minimum one year of healthcare experience) is required
  • Completion of an approved Activities Program with possession of a Certificate of Completion
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification — must be maintained at all times
