Practice Highlights
- Full accountability for all aspects of hospital facility management and physical plant operations, including equipment and structural repairs
- Ensures ongoing compliance with all regulatory agencies, including CMS, The Joint Commission (JCAHO), and Life Safety Code standards
- Oversees and advances hospital Environment of Care (EOC), Safety, and Utility Management programs
- Responsible for knowledge and application of state hospital licensing standards
- Comprehensive acute care campus encompassing emergency services, cardiology and cardiovascular care, orthopedics, rehabilitation services, women's health, labor and delivery/obstetrics, neonatal care, and primary care
- Home to the area's only Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) — a high-acuity, mission-critical service line that underscores the operational complexity of this role
- Preferred experience includes oversight of hospitals exceeding 200 beds or equivalent complexity
Qualifications
- Minimum: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a related field; an Associate's degree with at least 5 years of healthcare engineering management experience is also considered; equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of formal education
- Preferred: Master's degree
- Minimum 7 years of experience in the healthcare field
- Preferred: 10 or more years of supervisory or management experience in a hospital of 200+ beds or comparable setting
- Demonstrated experience with CMS, JCAHO, and Life Safety Code compliance; knowledge of state hospital licensing standards
- Preferred certifications: PE (Registered Professional Engineer) or CHFM (Certified Healthcare Facility Manager)
- No required licensure; professional certifications are a differentiator, not a barrier to entry
