Practice Highlights
- Diet kitchen and tray line duties: food preparation, assembly, delivery, and retrieval for inpatient meals

- Pot and pan washing and general dishwasher functions as assigned
- Cashiering duties within the cafeteria setting
- Trash disposal and maintenance of clean, organized work areas including storeroom and walk-in coolers
- Adherence to infection control and sanitation standards: hand washing protocols, clean uniforms, hair restraints, proper food temperature monitoring, and correct labeling, dating, and rotation of stored food items
- Proper use, handling, and storage of approved cleaning chemicals and sanitizing agents
- Part of a collaborative support team at a 217-bed hospital with active cardiovascular, orthopedic, obstetrics, and emergency service lines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; sufficient to follow oral and written instructions in English
- Valid food handler certification required — one of the following: unexpired Maricopa County Food Handler Card; a valid card or certificate from an ANSI-accredited food handler training program; or a valid food handler card or certificate issued by another Arizona county
- Ability to read and follow oral and written instructions in English
- Strong customer service skills and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
