Practice Highlights
- Full-time, evening-shift position at Baptist Medical Center — a full-service acute care hospital within a six-hospital system that also includes a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit
- Terminal cleaning responsibilities in high-acuity and specialized areas: Operating Room, Cardiac Cath Lab, Intensive Care Unit, Electrophysiology Labs, Labor & Delivery Rooms, Labor & Delivery OR, Recovery Pre-holding, and Behavioral Health Units
- General EVS coverage of corridors, patient rooms, public areas, offices, and treatment rooms using prescribed cleaning methods
- Floor care responsibilities including stripping and waxing of resilient floor surfaces and maintenance of carpeted areas
- Strict infection control and isolation technique protocols applied throughout all assigned areas
- Equipment maintenance accountability — responsible for cleanliness of assigned equipment and timely reporting of repair needs for equipment, furniture, fixtures, and building infrastructure
- Operates within a large integrated health system that includes a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, ambulatory services, and the Baptist School of Health Professions
- Participation in departmental performance improvement activities
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; candidates with 3 or more years of full-time Environmental Services experience may substitute in lieu of formal education
- Minimum 3 years of cleaning experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting, with demonstrated terminal cleaning experience required
- Ability to read, write, and understand English
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices, isolation techniques, and safe chemical and supply handling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented environment; must meet deadlines and follow supervisor direction
- Familiarity with facility safety policies, proper use of safety equipment, and protocols for reporting unsafe conditions
