Westover Hills Baptist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas is recruiting a full-time Environmental Services Technician II (Housekeeping Associate II) to support infection control and environmental cleanliness across a high-acuity acute care campus. This day-shift role covers critical care and procedural areas — including the Emergency Department, ICU, GI Lab, Wound Care, and isolation rooms — within a faith-inspired health system with more than 120 years of community service. The Baptist Health System operates six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit, a comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, and ambulatory services across the San Antonio region.

Practice Highlights

  • Full-time days position with coverage across high-priority clinical areas: Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, GI Lab, Wound Care, and procedure areas
  • Responsible for terminal cleaning of isolation rooms and exam rooms in compliance with established infection control protocols
  • Routine duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, surface cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and glass areas throughout the facility
  • Trash and linen removal using compactor and cardboard baler; linen distribution throughout the hospital
  • Furniture and heavy equipment relocation as directed by supervisors
  • Operates within a large integrated health system: six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with dedicated pediatric emergency unit, comprehensive cancer care network, fitness and rehabilitation centers, imaging centers, and the Baptist School of Health Professions

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of cleaning experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting, including terminal cleaning experience
  • Ability to read, write, and understand English (minimum education requirement)
  • Preferred: High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of full-time environmental services work experience in lieu of formal education
  • Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices, isolation techniques, and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong problem-solving skills and professional communication with staff, patients, and the public
  • Commitment to safety compliance: proper use of safety equipment, reporting of unsafe conditions, and adherence to all facility and system policies
