Practice Highlights
- Full-time, evening shift schedule
- Assigned cleaning coverage across high-acuity and high-traffic areas: Emergency Department, Intensive Care Unit, GI Lab, Wound Care, procedure rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, and public hallways
- Performs terminal cleaning of isolation rooms and exam rooms in compliance with infection control and isolation protocols
- Responsible for trash and linen removal using hospital compactor and cardboard baler; distributes linen throughout the facility
- Routine duties include sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, surface cleaning of floors, walls, ceilings, sinks, mirrors, showers, commodes, windows, and glass areas
- Moves furniture and heavy equipment as directed; maintains assigned equipment and reports repair needs
- Operates within Baptist Health System's six full-service hospitals, a specialized children's hospital with dedicated pediatric emergency unit, comprehensive cancer care network, imaging centers, fitness and rehabilitation centers, and ambulatory services
- Participates in performance improvement activities and cross-training to support flexible staffing across the department
- Works within a system supported by the Baptist School of Health Professions, offering ongoing professional development pathways
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of cleaning experience in a hospitality or healthcare setting, with terminal cleaning experience required
- Ability to read, write, and understand English (minimum education requirement)
- High school diploma, GED, or 2 years of full-time environmental services work experience accepted in lieu of formal education (preferred)
- Demonstrated knowledge of infection control practices, isolation techniques, and safe chemical and equipment handling
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, customer service-oriented clinical environment
- Familiarity with facility safety policies, OSHA-aligned procedures, and proper use of safety equipment
