Abrazo Central Campus in Phoenix, Arizona is recruiting a part-time Security Officer (Unarmed) to help maintain a safe and secure environment across its 221-bed acute care and teaching hospital. Practice Highlights

  • Part-time schedule covering days off of full-time shifts: Day shift 4:00 AM – 12:30 PM; Swing shift 12:00 PM – 8:30 PM
  • 221-bed acute care and teaching hospital in Central Phoenix, operating since 1963
  • Service lines include emergency care, family medicine, cardiology, and more
  • Unarmed security role responsible for facility-wide monitoring, patrol, and incident response
  • Utilizes CCTV/IP cameras, imaging recording systems, access control systems, radios, and security software platforms
  • Responds to emergencies including bomb threats, fire alarms, and intrusion alarms per established protocols
  • Conducts monthly checks of duress and intrusion alarm systems
  • Participates in quarterly infant/child abduction drills and coordinates security for special and high-risk events
  • Attends Safety and Risk Management Committee meetings; ensures compliance with OSHA/ADOSH, TJC, Arizona Department of Health Services, EPA, and CDC standards
  • Serves as primary point of contact for physical security system installation within the assigned facility

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and experience considered
  • Two to three years of experience in a security, law enforcement, or military role — OR a minimum of three years in a strong customer service role with willingness to learn security practices
  • Three or more years in a progressively responsible leadership role preferred
  • Valid Arizona state driver's license with a driving history that meets company requirements
  • Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate Arizona state security license/certifications for this position
  • Crisis Intervention Certification preferred, or ability to obtain within six months of hire; must maintain certification throughout employment
  • Working knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, security software, CCTV, alarm technologies, and access control systems
  • Strong written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
