About this role
AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time Nursery Registered Nurse for night shifts at its 2500 Harbor Blvd campus in Port Charlotte, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, and sociocultural factors for nursery patients and families.
- Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized care plans aligned with patient needs and standards of care.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and self-care strategies to support understanding and compliance.
- Collaborate with physicians and ancillary departments to coordinate care and maintain effective team communication.
- Respond promptly to code situations, providing necessary interventions to stabilize patients.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Florida.
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred).
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required).
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
- Preferred certifications include S.T.A.B.L.E., Neonatal Med Certification, PEARS, and Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC).
- Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and critical-thinking skills with the ability to apply abstract reasoning to patient care decisions.
