About this role
A Document Imaging Specialist (part-time, Friday–Monday) at AdventHealth Waterman supports health information management operations at the Tavares, Florida campus.
### What you'll do
- Retrieve, scan, and prepare discharged patient records from nursing units, outpatient departments, and the emergency department for transport and archiving.
- Review paper records against electronic documents to verify image quality and identify missing or incomplete documentation.
- Verify and validate image/document errors, making corrections as needed to maintain data integrity.
- Utilize discharge logs to confirm receipt of all records and process loose documents in a timely manner.
- Communicate record discrepancies or irregularities to leadership and coordinate with nursing and ancillary staff on missing records.
- Perform near-time scanning of active and discharged patient records on nursing units, maintaining productivity and quality standards.
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, and Excel.
- Strong attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to perform repetitive tasks with sustained accuracy.
- Knowledge of security and confidentiality requirements for protected health information (HIPAA).
- Ability to work independently on-site and exercise independent judgment when prioritizing tasks.
- Epic EMR experience (preferred).
