San Ramon Regional Medical Center, a 123-bed acute care hospital in San Ramon, CA, is seeking a part-time Health Information Management (HIM) Technician to support its medical records scanning and document management operations. Practice Highlights
- 123-bed acute care hospital with inpatient, outpatient, surgical, emergency, and specialty service lines
- Daily discharge report processing covering inpatient, outpatient surgery, outpatient clinic, and ED chart types, plus loose material
- Document scanning workflow utilizing HPF (Hyland Performance Framework) scanning application with helpdesk ticketing and IT support integration
- Cross-functional HIM coverage responsibilities including front desk reception, Release of Information (ROI) processing, and chart deficiency and suspension coordination
- Direct physician support role: assists providers with delinquent chart completion and system-related troubleshooting
- Medical record integrity duties: merging duplicate MRNs, tracking missing discharged patient charts, and coordinating retrieval with clinical departments
- Records retention compliance: manages timely paper chart destruction per corporate retention policy on a monthly cycle
- Monthly and quarterly reporting responsibilities
- Coordinates external storage file retrieval and transfer in collaboration with other facility departments
- Service lines supported include award-winning heart care, minimally invasive joint and spine surgery, robotic surgery, and a Level II Special Care Nursery
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum one (1) year of experience in an acute care Health Information Management environment preferred
- Basic medical terminology knowledge desirable
- Proficient computer skills required; familiarity with HIM scanning applications and/or HPF a plus
- No licensure or certification required at time of hire
