Practice Highlights
- Level 3 NICU — the only Level 3 unit in the Coachella Valley, serving a regional referral catchment across the Coachella Valley and Morongo Basin
- Day-to-day shift operations oversight: staffing, workflow facilitation, scheduling, and interdepartmental coordination
- Full human resources accountability at the unit level: hiring, onboarding, orientation, performance evaluations, counseling, and disciplinary action
- Maintains unit-level employee records including licensure, certifications, continuing education compliance, and competency documentation
- Integrates performance improvement (PI) philosophy into daily operations; leads data collection for unit-based quality trending and ongoing reviews
- Collaborates with the Director on department strategic planning, short- and long-term goal development, and budget management including labor and supply cost controls
- Supports hospital-wide programs including risk management, safety, and infection control
- Part of Desert Care Network — a three-hospital system offering comprehensive stroke care, a cancer center, and a Level 1 Trauma Center in addition to the Level 3 NICU
- Patient population spans neonatal acuity appropriate to a Level 3 designation, with age-specific competency expectations across the neonatal continuum
Qualifications
- Prior NICU Clinical Manager or Charge RN experience required
- Minimum of 3 years of NICU clinical experience
- Current California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ADN) required at minimum
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
- Demonstrated clinical competence, leadership skills, and management aptitude
