Practice Highlights
- Charge RN role in the NICU of a 217-bed acute care campus with an established obstetrics program
- Coordinates day-to-day unit operations: staffing assignments, break scheduling, and resource allocation based on patient acuity and caregiver competency
- Provides direct patient care in accordance with departmental standards while monitoring and evaluating care appropriateness and effectiveness
- Delegates and supervises care delivered by RNs, LPNs, and CNAs; matches patient needs to staff skill sets
- Acts as liaison between pre-hospital providers, medical and nursing staff, and hospital administration
- Leads orientation and onboarding for new team members in collaboration with nursing management; oversees completion of orientation competency checklists and annual competency verification for all unit staff
- Responsible for developing and implementing plans and processes to meet regulatory requirements
- Tracks customer service performance metrics and takes corrective action to address service issues

Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Arizona required
- Nursing degree from an accredited nursing school required; BSN preferred
- Minimum two years of relevant clinical nursing experience required
- Minimum two years of current Level III NICU experience, including neonatal ventilator management, required for this Level II EQ position
- Current CPR certification required; ACLS as applicable by department
- Two years of supervisory or management experience preferred
- Certification in NICU or neonatal specialty area of practice preferred
- Demonstrated ability to make independent, sound decisions in high-acuity, high-stress situations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to implement change and assist with departmental budget management
