Practice Highlights
- Leads, coordinates, and advances the organization-wide patient safety program, including risk identification, analysis, and mitigation
- Partners with the Director of Clinical Quality Improvement, clinical leaders, and operational leaders to reduce harm and improve patient outcomes
- Facilitates performance improvement activities at the hospital level, including core measures, Joint Commission Accreditation, and Disease Specific Certifications
- Conducts root cause analysis, intensive analysis, process mapping, and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA) to identify and address improvement opportunities
- Coordinates data gathering and analysis for hospital-specific quality metrics; reports findings back to departments to complete the full quality improvement cycle
- Provides quality improvement training and education to clinical staff and medical staff related to performance metrics
- Ensures hospital compliance with multiple regulatory bodies in coordination with system quality leadership
- Coordinates and advises on meetings, seminars, and programs related to the overall Quality and Performance Improvement program under the direction of the DCQI
- Promotes a culture of safety and supports high reliability performance across the organization

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing or a related discipline in a hospital or healthcare setting required; Master's degree in Nursing, Health Services, or Patient Safety preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of direct patient care experience and 3 years in Quality, Risk, or Patient Safety required
- Current Texas State Registered Nurse (RN) licensure required
- Risk Management Certification via CPPS (Certified Professional in Patient Safety) or CPHRQ required within 1 year of hire
- Preferred certifications include Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ), Certified Joint Commission Professional (CJCP), or completion of a patient safety curriculum through ASHRM, NPSF, or NQF
- Strong knowledge of patient safety science, human factors engineering, AHRQ Patient Safety Indicators, data analysis, and performance improvement methodology preferred
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, facilitate organizational change, and communicate effectively across clinical and operational teams
