Practice Highlights
- Full-time, permanent night shift position in the Nursery unit
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
- Supervisory accountability for staff to whom care is appropriately delegated
- Accountable to the CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management
- Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Medication administration responsibilities per hospital policy, with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Active role in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) during emergencies and disaster response
- Part of a five-hospital regional system serving El Paso since 1902, including a dedicated children's hospital
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (required); Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain licensure in the state of practice
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA ACLS, PALS, and/or NRP required as applicable per corporate policy for the unit of hire
- Recent acute care experience preferred; nursery or neonatal experience is a strong asset
