About the Community
Raleigh — the "City of Oaks" — sits at the center of North Carolina's Research Triangle, a metro area of approximately 1.6 million people that pairs Southern livability with a thriving technology and life-sciences economy anchored by NC State University and Research Triangle Park (RTP). The city offers an exceptional quality of life: tree-lined greenways, William B. Umstead State Park, the North Carolina Museum of Art, a vibrant performing arts scene, the annual NC State Fair, and professional hockey with the Carolina Hurricanes. Cost of living remains favorable relative to comparable metros, and the region's economic resilience — driven by major universities, state government, and global tech firms — makes it one of the most stable and desirable places to build a long-term career and raise a family.
