About the Community
Tacoma sits on the shores of Puget Sound in Western Washington, with direct views of Mount Rainier and easy access to the region's celebrated outdoor recreation — hiking, skiing, kayaking, and sailing are all within reach year-round. The greater Puget Sound metro is home to professional sports franchises including the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders FC, and the NHL's Seattle Kraken, along with a thriving food, craft beverage, and arts scene. Tacoma itself offers a lower cost of living than Seattle while remaining well-connected to the broader metro, making it an attractive base for physicians who want urban amenities without urban density.
