About the Community

Panama City sits along the Gulf Coast in Florida's Panhandle — a region defined by affordable waterfront living, white-sand beaches, and a strong local community feel that sets it apart from the congestion and cost of South Florida. Housing costs remain below the national average, with options ranging from suburban neighborhoods to waterfront properties along St. Andrews Bay, and Florida's lack of state income tax stretches take-home pay further. Outdoor life centers on St. Andrews State Park, Shell Island, and year-round fishing, boating, and paddleboarding on the Gulf, while the local economy is anchored by Tyndall Air Force Base alongside a growing healthcare and tourism sector. Families benefit from Bay District Schools and access to Gulf Coast State College, with additional university options within commuting distance.
