A leading healthcare organization in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex is recruiting a board-certified Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for a dedicated inpatient Palliative Care consultative role. This is a high-acuity, inpatient-only position embedded within a multidisciplinary team — nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and case management — focused entirely on improving quality of life for patients with serious and life-limiting illness. Texas's no-state-income-tax environment and tort reform landscape add meaningful financial upside to an already competitive compensation package.

Perks and Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus productivity and quality-based incentive compensation
  • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, vision, and disability coverage
  • Retirement plan with employer match
  • Malpractice coverage provided
  • Generous PTO, CME allowance, and paid professional dues
  • Relocation assistance available
  • Texas advantage: no state income tax and a well-established tort reform environment

Practice Highlights

  • Inpatient-only Palliative Care role — no outpatient panel, no call from home for routine matters
  • Consultative scope covering patients with serious or life-limiting illness across inpatient service lines
  • Lead goals-of-care conversations and family meetings, including complex prognostic discussions
  • Collaborate daily with an interdisciplinary team: nursing, social work, chaplaincy, and case management
  • Manage care transitions, including coordination of hospice referrals and discharge planning
  • Active role in palliative care program development and quality improvement initiatives

Qualifications

  • Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)
  • Active Texas NP or PA license, or demonstrated ability to obtain prior to start
  • Active DEA certification required
  • Prior palliative care, serious illness, or hospice experience strongly aligned with this role
  • Demonstrated skill in goals-of-care communication and family-centered care delivery

About the Community

Dallas–Fort Worth is one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in the country, offering a broad range of housing options at costs well below comparable coastal markets — amplified further by Texas's absence of a state income tax. The metroplex delivers major-city amenities across dining, professional sports, arts, and entertainment, while surrounding suburbs provide highly rated school districts and family-friendly neighborhoods. DFW International Airport connects the region to virtually every major U.S. city, making travel straightforward for clinicians with ties elsewhere.
