About this role
A PRN night-shift Labor & Delivery RN role at AdventHealth Fish Memorial in Orange City, Florida, supporting obstetrical and perinatal patients across the full continuum of inpatient L&D care.
### What you'll do
- Perform thorough, ongoing assessments of perinatal patients and develop individualized, evidence-based care plans aligned with interdisciplinary goals.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, maintaining strict adherence to patient safety protocols.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, procedures, and care plans, tailoring instruction to assessed learning needs.
- Execute safe handoff communication and documentation at each transition of care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff to facilitate timely patient admission, discharge, and transfer per hospital policy.
- Serve as a patient advocate, upholding patient rights and participating in quality, safety, and practice improvement initiatives.
### What we're looking for
- Active Florida Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications (required); NRP certification (preferred).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- 1+ year of experience in obstetrical or perinatal nursing preferred.
- Prior hospital-based perinatal nursing experience preferred.
- Demonstrated critical thinking, communication, delegation, and interpersonal skills appropriate to L&D patient acuity.
