AdventHealth Shawnee Mission is hiring a full-time night-shift Registered Nurse for its Mother Baby unit in Shawnee Mission, Kansas.
### What you'll do
- Conduct comprehensive assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, and sociocultural factors for postpartum patients and newborns.
- Develop, implement, and continuously revise individualized care plans based on patient needs and evidence-based standards.
- Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, monitoring for adverse reactions and following hospital protocols.
- Educate patients and families on postpartum recovery, newborn care, medications, and self-care strategies to support discharge readiness.
- Collaborate with physicians, lactation consultants, and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize mother-baby care.
- Respond promptly to code situations and provide stabilizing interventions as required.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Kansas (required).
- Associate's Degree in Nursing required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification required.
- At least one year of experience in an acute care hospital setting preferred.
- Certified Lactation Counselor (CLC) or Neonatal Med Certification preferred.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and abstract-reasoning skills with effective written and verbal communication.
