Practice Highlights
- Labor & Delivery unit within a full-service acute care medical center serving the Rio Grande Valley region
- Required fetal monitoring competencies at both Basic and Intermediate Fetal levels — reflecting a unit that manages a broad acuity range
- RN assumes per-shift accountability for assessment, planning, and implementation of direct clinical care for assigned L&D patients
- Supervisory responsibility over staff to whom care is appropriately delegated
- Medication administration performed safely and in accordance with hospital policy and established standards
- Practice governed by standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
- RN participates in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergency and disaster activations

Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current Texas RN licensure required (or eligibility to obtain)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required as applicable per unit policy
- Basic Fetal Monitoring competency required; Intermediate Fetal Monitoring competency required
- Recent acute care experience preferred; L&D or women's services background strongly relevant
