<h3>Practice Highlights</h3> <ul> <li>Shift-based clinical supervision of the Labor & Delivery unit, including coordination and assignment of patient care across the shift</li> <li>Functions as unit patient flow coordinator — managing admissions, discharges, and transfers in real time</li> <li>Coordinates unit staffing for the oncoming shift in collaboration with the Director, Clinical Manager, Coordinator, and/or House Officer</li> <li>Serves as a clinical and leadership resource and role model for bedside staff; provides supervisory input into staff evaluations and performance reviews</li> <li>Part of the departmental leadership team within a six-hospital health system that includes a specialized children's hospital with a dedicated pediatric emergency unit</li> <li>System-wide resources include a comprehensive cancer care network, fitness and rehabilitation centers, imaging centers, ambulatory services, and the Baptist School of Health Professions</li> <li>Faith-inspired mission with more than 120 years of community health service in the San Antonio region</li> </ul>
<h3>Qualifications</h3> <ul> <li>Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing (or advanced degree in a related field) preferred</li> <li>Minimum 1 year of experience in an equivalent L&D or equivalent unit required; 4 years preferred</li> <li>Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required</li> <li>National Specialty Certification preferred</li> <li>Active Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) required at hire (ARC or AHA); AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire</li> <li>Required certifications depending on department assignment: ACLS/TNCC, PALS, NRP, S.T.A.B.L.E., Fetal Monitoring, and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention — with applicable grace periods per department RN job description</li> </ul>
