Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required at time of hire
- Minimum two years of acute care nursing experience preferred; prior clinical nursing experience in a maternal-fetal or women's services setting is a strong asset
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) — Healthcare Provider certification required at hire (ARC accepted); AHA-specific BLS must be obtained within 60 days of hire
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) — must be completed within 60 days of hire; ideally completed before the end of the orientation period
- AHA Neonatal Resuscitation Provider (NRP) — must be completed within 60 days of hire; ideally completed before the end of the orientation period
- S.T.A.B.L.E. certification — proof of prior completion or must be obtained within 6 months of hire (required for Antepartum at facilities without a Level 3 or Level 4 NICU)
- Fetal Heart Monitoring pathway for novice/new-to-service-line RNs: Intro to Fetal Monitoring (Basic FM) within 30 days of hire; AWHONN Intermediate FM within 9 months; AWHONN Advanced FM within 9 months of Intermediate FM completion
- Fetal Heart Monitoring pathway for experienced L&D RNs: evidence of AWHONN Intermediate FM completion within the past 2 years required at hire (or completion within 6 months if lapsed); AWHONN Advanced FM within 9 months of Intermediate FM completion
