Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
- Active Texas State Registered Nurse license required
- No minimum experience required; two or more years in acute care and prior clinical nursing experience preferred
- Active AHA or ARC Healthcare Provider BLS on hire; AHA Healthcare Provider BLS required within 60 days of hire
- AHA ACLS required within 60 days of hire or transfer into role (Labor & Delivery); completion before end of orientation period strongly preferred
- AHA NRP required within 60 days of hire or transfer into Labor & Delivery (applies to any nurse floated into L&D); completion before end of orientation period strongly preferred
- Fetal Monitoring — Novice RNs: GNOSIS Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring within 30 days of hire; AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Heart Monitoring within 8 months of L&D orientation. Experienced L&D RNs (>1 year experience): AWHONN Advanced Fetal Heart Monitoring on hire or within first 90 days
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Level 2 Nursery certification: proof of prior completion or obtained within 6 months of hire or transfer (renewal not required)
