Practice Highlights

  • Full-time night-shift schedule on the Labor and Delivery unit
  • Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care plans
  • Supervision and delegation of care to appropriate support staff on the unit
  • Accountable to the CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care, clinical staff competency, and appropriate resource management
  • Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control protocols
  • Medication administration per hospital policy with emphasis on safety and timeliness
  • Participation in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Active Texas RN license or eligibility to obtain
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as applicable per unit policy
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring certification required; Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
  • Recent acute care experience preferred; L&D background strongly advantageous given unit-specific fetal monitoring requirements
