Practice Highlights

  • Full-time, night-shift position in the Labor & Delivery unit
  • Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
  • Oversight and supervision of staff to whom care is appropriately delegated
  • Accountable to the CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management
  • Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
  • Medication administration per hospital policy with emphasis on safety and timeliness
  • Active role in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
  • Part of a regional health system with deep community roots in the Rio Grande Valley, serving a diverse and underserved patient population

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
  • Current, active Texas RN license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
  • AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as applicable per unit policy
  • Basic Fetal Monitoring certification required
  • Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
  • Recent acute care experience preferred; L&D background strongly advantageous
