Practice Highlights
- Full-time, night-shift position in the Labor & Delivery unit
- Direct clinical patient care with per-shift responsibility for assessment, planning, and implementation of individualized nursing care
- Oversight and supervision of staff to whom care is appropriately delegated
- Accountable to the CNO for high-quality, safe nursing care and appropriate resource management
- Practice governed by established standards of safety, risk management, quality improvement, and infection control
- Medication administration per hospital policy with emphasis on safety and timeliness
- Active role in Hospital Incident Command System (HICS) responsibilities during emergencies and disaster events
- Part of a regional health system with deep community roots in the Rio Grande Valley, serving a diverse and underserved patient population
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required; Bachelor's or Master's degree in Nursing preferred
- Current, active Texas RN license (or eligibility to obtain)
- AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and/or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification as applicable per unit policy
- Basic Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification required
- Recent acute care experience preferred; L&D background strongly advantageous
