About this role
A cardiothoracic surgery PA opportunity with StaffMed Health Partners is open at a flagship hospital in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, supporting a team of four CT surgeons and three PAs in a full-spectrum adult cardiac program.
### What you'll do
- First assist in the OR with Endovascular Vein Harvesting (EVH) on cardiac cases
- Manage pre-operative evaluation, post-operative care, ICU rounding, and step-down unit coverage
- Conduct outpatient clinic follow-up as part of a mixed inpatient/outpatient schedule
- Perform bedside procedures including chest tube removal, line removal, and wound care
- Provide focused support to one lead surgeon with a shared call structure (1:3 weekday / 1:4 weekend)
- Participate in discharge planning, patient education, and quality improvement initiatives
### What we're looking for
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with active NCCPA certification
- Minimum 1 year of EVH experience (required)
- 2–3 years of cardiothoracic surgery, critical care, or surgical PA experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, and active DEA registration
- Strong clinical judgment in high-acuity, complex surgical patient populations
- Comfort practicing with autonomy in a fast-paced OR and ICU environment
