About this role

AdventHealth Tampa is hiring a full-time CVOR Certified First Assist to support cardiac and thoracic surgical procedures at its Tampa, Florida hospital. ### What you'll do - Assist the surgeon directly during open and endovascular cardiovascular procedures, including retraction of tissues and organs for optimal visualization - Harvest the saphenous vein for grafting via open or endoscopic technique - Manage placement and securing of retractors, clamps, suture materials, and drainage tubes, and utilize unipolar and bipolar electrocautery - Close wound layers and apply wound dressings per surgeon's directive - Set up the CVOR with correct instrumentation and supplies; review case loads and preference cards to prepare for pending procedures - Assist in patient positioning, prepping, and draping, and respond to resuscitation events in the operating room ### What we're looking for - Certified Surgical Assistant (CSA) or State Certified Surgical Assistant — required - Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) — required - BLS/CPR certification — required - 3+ years of experience as a Certified First Assist — required (5+ years preferred) - Completion of an accredited Certified Surgical Assisting Program - Working knowledge of cardiac, thoracic, abdominal, and peripheral vascular anatomy ### What's included - Hourly pay range: $28.68–$53.35 (approximately $59,654–$110,968 annually) - $10,000 sign-on bonus for eligible applicants - Up to $10,000 relocation bonus for eligible applicants - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one and 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - 403(b) retirement plan ### About the practice AdventHealth Tampa is a full-service acute care hospital located on East Fletcher Avenue in Tampa, Florida, part of the AdventHealth system — one of the largest faith-based health networks in the country.
