About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant supports primary care clinic operations at AdventHealth's University Professional Center in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical intake including vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation
- Assist with minor procedures, document results in the EMR at time of service, and close care gaps
- Administer medications, collect labs, and initiate diagnostic testing as ordered
- Educate patients on tests, medications, and diet with clear, accurate instructions
- Maintain OSHA compliance, safety processes, and inventory of supplies and equipment
- Travel as needed to support staffing needs across clinic locations
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as a CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Knowledge of medical terminology and chronic disease management
- 1+ year of related clinical work experience (preferred)
- Proficiency with computers and electronic health record systems
