About this role
AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time Med-Surge Nurse Manager to lead inpatient nursing operations at its hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Recruit, interview, hire, and orient nursing personnel to maintain appropriate unit staffing levels.
- Conduct performance evaluations, deliver constructive feedback, and lead staff development and ongoing education programs.
- Develop and manage the nursing unit budget, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Lead quality improvement initiatives using data and evidence-based practices to drive measurable patient care outcomes.
- Perform initial and ongoing patient assessments, formulate individualized care plans, and administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated, effective patient care while maintaining regulatory compliance.
### What we're looking for
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in Florida (required).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (required); Master of Science in Nursing (preferred).
- Minimum 1 year of nursing experience and 1 year of leadership experience (required); 2+ years each preferred.
- BLS/CPR certification (required); CNML, TNCC, CEN, or other specialty certifications preferred.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (Cerner) and Microsoft Office suite.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory standards including Joint Commission and OSHA requirements.
