About this role
A Certified Patient Care Technician (PCT) role at AdventHealth Carrollwood supports inpatient nursing teams in delivering direct bedside care at the Tampa, Florida campus.
### What you'll do
- Perform treatments and bedside patient care appropriate to patient age, mobility, acuity, and cultural needs under the direction of a registered nurse
- Assist in obtaining nursing histories and report abnormalities or changes in patient condition to the RN
- Document and report all procedures completed in accordance with department policy
- Follow isolation protocols, use protective equipment correctly, and enforce safety regulations to maintain a clean, safe environment
- Function appropriately during clinical emergencies and support quality improvement initiatives
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team
### What we're looking for
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Active BLS/CPR certification (required)
- One of the following credentials: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Certified Patient Care Technician/Assistant (CPCT/A), or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of PCT or applicable patient care experience (preferred)
- Prior bedside experience in an acute care unit, unit secretary role, monitor technician, or equivalent clinical setting (preferred)

AdventHealth Carrollwood is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating hospitals and outpatient facilities across multiple states. The Tampa campus at 7171 N. Dale Mabry Highway provides acute inpatient care with an emphasis on whole-person healing. PCTs work directly alongside registered nurses on inpatient units in a collaborative, team-based care model.
