About this role
AdventHealth Carrollwood is hiring a full-time Unit Coordinator for its Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Tampa, Florida, working a 10am–10pm day shift.
### What you'll do
- Coordinate unit operations by notifying departments and physicians, and maintaining accurate patient records in the electronic health record.
- Post pertinent patient data in a timely manner and manage documentation related to admissions, transfers, and discharges.
- Access the medication room to place medications in a secure area upon arrival to the floor.
- Respond appropriately in emergency situations and support patient safety standards.
- Interact with patients in a manner appropriate to their age, acuity, and cultural background.
- Participate in performance improvement activities and accurately document monitoring outcomes.
### What we're looking for
- 1+ year of recent hospital experience or comparable background in a medical office or outpatient clinic setting.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and organizational skills.
- Computer and typing proficiency; Microsoft Office experience preferred.
- High school diploma, GED, or completion of a Health Unit Coordinator course.
- Active Basic Life Support (BLS/CPR) certification.
- Neat, legible handwriting and sufficient English spelling skills for non-clinical documentation duties.
