AdventHealth for Children is hiring a Senior Nurse Manager for its Pediatric Cardiac ICU, a Magnet-designated 15-bed unit in Orlando, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Oversee staff performance, staffing levels, hiring, orientation, and disciplinary processes for a 70+ member team including RNs, ECMO specialists, ANMs, and PCTs
- Manage unit budget and resources with a working understanding of healthcare finance
- Lead performance and quality improvement initiatives, implementing evidence-based practice changes and ensuring compliance with professional and regulatory standards
- Mentor and develop clinical staff, supporting education, career growth, and adherence to clinical practice models
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement unit policies, procedures, and process improvement initiatives
- Maintain effective communication with patients, families, staff, and physicians to ensure patient-centered care across all acuity levels (1:1–1:3 nurse-to-patient ratios)
### What we're looking for
- Active RN license in Florida
- Demonstrated experience in human resource management and financial management within a clinical setting
- Proven ability to lead performance improvement initiatives and apply critical thinking in unit operations
- Strong leadership and clinical practice knowledge, preferably in pediatric cardiac or critical care
- Excellent oral, written, and computer communication skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to mentor staff and operate effectively in a matrix-management environment
