About this role

AdventHealth Altamonte Springs is hiring a full-time night-shift Registered Nurse for its 36-bed Clinical Observation/PCU unit in Altamonte Springs, Florida. ### What you'll do - Perform comprehensive patient assessments covering physiological, psychological, developmental, sociocultural, spiritual, and lifestyle factors. - Develop, implement, and revise individualized care plans aligned with evidence-based standards of care. - Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and hospital protocols, monitoring for adverse reactions. - Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatments, medications, and self-care strategies. - Collaborate with physicians, medical staff, and ancillary departments to coordinate and optimize patient care. ### What we're looking for - Associate of Science degree in Nursing (ASN) or higher. - Current Florida or Multistate Registered Nurse licensure. - Minimum six (6) months of RN experience. - Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. ### What's included - Hourly pay range: $31.53–$52.24 (annualized approximately $65,582–$108,659). - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one. - Paid time off from day one. - 403(b) retirement plan. - Four weeks of 100% paid parental leave. - Pet benefits and whole-person well-being and mental health resources. ### About the practice AdventHealth Altamonte Springs operates a 36-bed Observation/PCU unit serving a broad diagnostic mix including Rule Out MI, CHF, post-heart catheterization, renal failure, and stroke, functioning as a strategic extension of the emergency department with a goal of diagnosing and treating observation patients within 30 hours. The unit maintains a nurse-to-patient ratio of approximately 4–5:1, supported by patient care technicians and a unit coordinator on every shift. The team is mission-driven, family-centered, and known for low staff turnover and strong interdepartmental collaboration.
