About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant supports the cardiac surgery outpatient clinic at AdventHealth in Ocala, Florida, delivering direct patient care and coordinating daily clinical operations.
### What you'll do
- Room patients, obtain vital signs, document visit reasons, patient history, and allergies per nursing protocols
- Assist physicians with examinations and procedures while maintaining open communication for care continuity
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and audit ordered tests to ensure timely receipt and follow-up of results
- Monitor nursing supplies and equipment functionality, reporting maintenance needs to leadership
- Lead front-line staff in day-to-day clinic operations, delegating duties and managing operational issues
- Conduct training sessions, review patient care protocols, and ensure compliance with infection prevention guidelines
### What we're looking for
- Active CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA certification (one required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of related medical assistant work experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in vital signs, specimen collection, and body substance isolation
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills (preferred)
