About this role

AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time Cardiothoracic Surgery Certified Surgical Technologist at its Port Charlotte, Florida campus. ### What you'll do - Set up and maintain the sterile field with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications required for cardiothoracic procedures - Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon throughout the procedure while upholding strict sterile technique - Perform instrument and sponge counts with the circulator before the operation begins and before closure - Gown and glove the surgical team; assist with draping the sterile field - Handle surgical specimens with 100% accuracy and prepare sterile dressings post-procedure - Recognize and respond to emergency situations immediately; assist with terminal cleaning and room turnover ### What we're looking for - Active CST credential (State of Florida, NBSTSA, or NCCT TS-C) — required - BLS/CPR certification — required - Minimum one year of scrub experience in a multi-disciplinary surgical service - Demonstrated specialization in at least one surgical area - Solid knowledge of sterile technique, sterilization methods, instrumentation, and sterile field setup - Laser skills/training and familiarity with malignant hyperthermia protocols, surgical site infection prevention, and emergency code cart procedures ### What's included - Pay range: $23.71–$44.09/hr ($49,316–$91,707 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance effective Day One - Paid time off from Day One - 403(b) retirement plan - Four weeks of fully paid parental leave - Pet benefits and whole-person well-being and mental health resources ### About the practice AdventHealth Port Charlotte is part of AdventHealth, a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating across multiple states with a mission centered on whole-person care.
