About this role

A Referral Specialist – Practice Based role at AdventHealth is open at the TM University Professional Center in Tampa, Florida. ### What you'll do - Process and maintain referral orders, ensuring all orders meet insurance authorization requirements - Schedule procedures and assist patients with referral-related questions via phone and written communication - Sort and manage authorizations and denials; monitor voicemail and faxes to maintain referral integrity - Communicate with patients, physicians, and external providers to coordinate care transitions - Apply ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding knowledge to verify order accuracy and insurance compliance - Collaborate across department boundaries to support a team-based care environment ### What we're looking for - High school diploma or equivalent (required) - 1+ years of ICD-9/10 and CPT-4 coding experience (preferred) - Prior administrative, clerical, healthcare, call center, or physician office billing/scheduling experience (preferred) - Proficiency with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) - Knowledge of medical terminology and patient database systems - Strong customer service skills with the ability to manage difficult or emotional situations professionally ### What's included - Pay range: $16.63–$26.60/hour ($34,590–$55,328 annualized) - Medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance from day one - Paid time off from day one - 403(b) retirement plan - 4 weeks of 100% paid parental leave - Whole-person well-being and mental health resources ### About the practice AdventHealth is a faith-based, not-for-profit health system operating hospitals and outpatient facilities across multiple states.
