About this role
AdventHealth Port Charlotte is hiring a full-time Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) specializing in cardiothoracic surgery at its hospital in Port Charlotte, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Anticipate surgeon needs and keep the circulating nurse informed throughout each cardiothoracic procedure
- Assemble all required supplies, equipment, and medications prior to each case
- Monitor aseptic technique for the entire surgical team and take immediate corrective action for any breaks
- Supervise and assist with orientation, training, and education of new surgical team personnel
- Support safe and efficient OR turnover times and direct ancillary personnel during room changeover
- Promote a safe environment and respond appropriately in emergency situations, including infection control and PPE compliance
### What we're looking for
- Active State CST certification, NBSTSA CST, or NTSC certification (required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent (required); Associate degree or technical/vocational training preferred
- Enrollment in or completion of an accredited surgical technology program
- 1+ years of relevant surgical technology experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of sterile/aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, and fundamental human anatomy
