About this role
A Certified Medical Assistant supports a Rheumatology clinic at AdventHealth's University Professional Center in Tampa, Florida.
### What you'll do
- Perform clinical intake including vital signs, history taking, screenings, and medication reconciliation
- Assist with minor procedures specific to rheumatology and ensure accurate same-day documentation
- Administer medications, initiate testing, and document results in the practice management system
- Educate patients on tests, medications, and diet with clear, accurate instructions
- Monitor and manage inventory of supplies and medical equipment
- Travel as needed to support staffing and clinic operations across locations
### What we're looking for
- Active certification as CMA, CMAC, RMA, NCMA, CCMA, or NRCMA (one required)
- Current BLS/CPR certification
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1+ year of related medical assistant experience (preferred)
- Proficiency in medical terminology and chronic disease management concepts
- Ability to work independently within certification scope in a fast-paced clinical environment
